Tourist mode on (video)

After a long dreadful bike-in-bus ride, bouncing back and forth for 17 hours over steep mountain roads with our bikes buried underneath the bus as world's most valuable trash, while simultaneously hitting flat bus tires in the middle of the night, we arrived in Cusco. A long awaited destination.

Customarily we spent a day in bed fending off some foreign bacterial species, after which we switched to full tourist mode with a multi-day hike to Machu Picchu as the absolute highlight.

A magnificent break from cycling and who would have thought, we actually skip on the post meal cookies now and then. Time to move! The legs start to itch again (quite literally, as the Machu Picchu sand flies had their way with us). The urge to hop on the bike and experience the cyclist's freedom is higher than ever. Tomorrow, we set a course for Bolivia!
